Hello Fellow Deviants !
It has been a long time since I haven’t talked to you in a journal! The year 2021 is coming to an end and I feel like it is time to make a little feedback.
After having a productive year 2020 (thank you lockdown), I have been quite absent in 2021. The reasons are multiple.
I made the Inktober in 2020 and it was amazing, drawing every day, the inspiration coming itself or forcing it into the daily theme,… I made some piece that had a little success and I’m very happy with it (example : Inktober 29 Shoes ; Inktober 28 Float ), but in the end I think it emptied me. I’m not a quick drawer, so every pieces take me some time, plus I’m all about passion, so if I’m not overwhelmed by a project, I may never end it. And put with this the fact that I was doing all of this after work, the week end and sometimes during night,...
So I think I had too much and wanted to take a little break after 2020 Inktober. The problem is that after this I started projects, either too big or just not entertaining enough, so in the end I didn’t post anything for almost a year.. I did some drawings, but I really wanted to upload quality drawings only, so they never went online cause if I am not happy with it, it will never go online. In the end the only drawing worth uploading between November 2020 and July 2021 was Poster Demon Slayer Season 1.
Plus 2021 has been weird concerning my health, I had high and downs which didn’t help my motivation.
Once this poster was done, I really wanted to restart drawing, inspiration came back and just like that the flame came back. It is like this huge project was stopping me from starting something else or was the reason of my laziness/demotivation. So I went to Rougier & Plé (no #ad here, but I’d be happy to be sponsored xD), restocked my pencils and back to work! I decided, no more gigantic drawings like the posters, smaller ones that I can finish faster and I restarted on my routine of one drawing per week! And just like this I did those 2 drawings : SAMURAI IRONMAN and Medieval Captain America.
But the main reason I am doing this journal is because the artistic line of my gallery is going to change a bit. As you might know I bought a graphic tablet some time ago to try it. I did 2 drawings with it ( Digital Test Nappa - Vegeta and Digital Lion) and then back in the drawer taking dust. 2 weeks ago I found an amazing artist called Derek Laufmann, who does some kind of chibi, but in a comics style. I loved his drawings, and I thought hey why not do chibi, but not typical chibi ? SO I took back my graphic tablet and tried things. In the end I am happy to give ou my next concept that might stand for some time:
I will draw some chibi style famous characters (staying in the manga/comics/video games), but not cute ones, bad ass ones. I want them to have movement, to be in motion, to give an emotion, to instaure something in time”
I will draw them with my tablet, so it won’t be only traditional in my gallery anymore, it will be mixed. Drawing in digital is very satisfying at some point, you have all the tools you need, no need to buy anything overexpansive, and overall if you fail something, just CTRL+Z and restart until you like it. And for the first time i'm not copying anything or anyone I am doing my own characters designs, without taking a full model. And I am very proud of this. Those drawings are 100% from me, from the idea, to the last piece of color.
I’ve always had this fear of fucking up a line or a color on a traditional drawing when it is almost done and just like this being disappointed of what took me so long to draw. Now I can try anything I want and if I don't like it, erase, put a new calque and restart.
And just like that I’ve rediscover some feelings that I lost a long time ago, drawing for pleasure, having a lot of ideas, spending the day drawing without seeing the day passing, even forgetting to eat at some point!! Yesterday I drew from 10 am to 5pm without a break and I didn’t even realize it!
I already have some drawings in advance, so I am sure I will hold the 1 post a week rhythm (one week line art, next week full colored drawing). I’m even thinking about posting the line art on Wednesday and the full drawing on Sunday. But I need a little more advance to do this without pressure.
This are all the things I wanted to tell you, I hope you will be psyched by my digital drawings, and be sure, one thing won’t change: I will always put quality over quantity!!
Now If you have any questions (about the material I use or anything else), feel free to ask in the comments I’ll answer to everyone. Thank you very much for your amazing support and for the ones who follow me for years now, thank you for still being here after my absences.

4 years ago I started a tournament with vilains and heroes figthing to know who is the strongest among them all.
But this ended as one of the project I got tired of and never really ended xD
